This film was made in the shower. LIGHT 01 distills cinema into its most basic properties:
the presence and absence of light as celluloid passes through a projector. Strips of discarded 16mm leader were soaked in a basin in the bathtub while I shampooed. The film was agitated and rubbed while I lathered. The resulting scratched film was projected, recorded onto videotape, and digitally slowed down to examine the sights and sounds of projection. |
